When the stock market opened on Wednesday all eyes were turned towards the second quarter results which were declared by Sprint Nextel Corp which is the 3rd largest wireless service provider in the US Sprint profits had taken a nosedive since the middle of 2007 and was somewhat like an ailing company in the wireless market. The company has seen red ever since. And to make matters worse it hasn’t seen any increase in the subscribers list. However it is desperately trying to improve its customer service and is trying to stabilize the downfall to manageable levels. In the previous quarter it lost another 75.000 .It has almost reached a stage where it can post a net subscriber gain and this by itself will be an achievement for the company. The worrying aspect is that the people who have the means to afford a two years contract have become almost extinct and the companies are stealing subscribers from one another. The other network giants have logged good increase in subscribers and things are not looking well for Sprint.
